You could have a thyroid condition!
This is an important question as many thyroid conditions are subclinical. This means that you may feel the symptoms of a thyroid condition but your standard test results will come back ok. In fact, it is estimated that one in eight women will develop a thyroid disorder at sometime in their lives so its really important to get the right testing if you suspect a problem.
Some patterns of thyroid disease do not respond well to thyroid medication, as the problem is not actually a lack of thyroid hormone. For example, sometimes thyroid hormone has a problem converting into its active form. In this case, giving more thyroid hormone medication does not improve the conversion rate to the active form and so your medication is unlikely to make much difference.
The fact is that the majority of hypothyroid disorders are due to the autoimmune disease, Hashimoto's. This being the case, it is important to ascertain whether the treatment of your thyroid condition should focus on hormonal regulation or whether the immune system also needs support. Only by correctly identifying the main driver of your thyroid condition can the appropriate treatment be prescribed.

PCOD is a condition associated with many cysts on the ovary and is usually associated with excess androgens (male hormones), erratic ovulation, poor blood sugar regulation, excess facial and body hair and obesity.
A good place to start when dealing with PCOD is getting an accurate picture of sex hormone levels with a focus on understanding the metabolic pathways of testosterone. With this understanding in place, naturopathic medicine can be aimed at limiting the masculanising effects of these metabolic pathways, whilst concurrently promoting ovulation and addressing blood sugar irregularities as part of a comprehensive approach to dealing with all aspects of PCOD.
Menopause is the natural process which signals the end of the reproductive years, occuring for most women around the age of 45-50 years old. Unfortunately it can be a difficult time with symptoms such as hot flushes, weight gain and insomnia.
As a woman approaches menopause (peri-menopause) her cycles may become irregular with irratically fluctuating hormone levels. As oestrogen and progesterone eventually stabilise at low the woman reaches menopause.
Cindy has helped many women navigate their path through menopause assisting them with herbal and nutritional medicine to help relieve the symptoms of menopause.
